Your Practice pad is made from OSB board the board which is very environmentally friendly, because it is made from the trimming, pruning and natural thinning of well managed pine forests in Ireland. The clippings are chopped up, glued and compressed together. The composition of OSB makes it very strong. All colours or finishes on your pad are made by Liberon, they all comply with BS5665(part 3). The rubber used is a natural rubber, we have tried and tested it to give a very good response once mounted on the base. As it is a natural product we do sometimes get colour variations and slight marks on the rubber, we do try to ensure the worst are removed and this will not affect your playing surface in any way. The reverse side is a rubberised foam giving a non slip backing or a second playing surface with a different texture, this side is slightly harder to work on. Our pads are supplied with a set of exercises compiled by a drum teacher who is local to where we manufacture Pigpads TMWe also supply a focus spot for you to apply to your pad if you wish, this is a consumable item and may need to be replaced from time to time if used a lot. If you are a beginner ask your teacher if you should use it or not, some teachers use them some may not. If you have difficulty replacing your focus spot please write to babes wood enclosing a stamped self addressed envelope and a further loose first class stamps, one per focus spot required, as payment and we will send them to you. CARE OF YOUR PAD1) All wood as you know is a natural product and whilst OSB is stronger and will not warp or crack as easily as other woods will, it should not be soaked in water or exposed to extreme conditions such as excessive moisture or heat. 2) If your rubber surface becomes scuffed this can be cleaned with a household furniture spray such as Mr Sheen if it is very bad use white spirit first followed by the polish. 3) Your rubber should be fixed down well and it should not come off, however in the unlikely event of this happening it may be re attached by applying a small amount of porous super glue (Ripmax) approx. ½ " from the edge, all the way around the outside of the back of your rubber disk, add a few blobs to the middle area and hold it down in place applying pressure evenly all over for approx. 20 seconds. If you experience and difficulty with this please return you pad to us and we will fix it for you. |
