Alex began his musical career at the age of 10, using the only tried and tested traditional means available; that being Tupperware tubs, wooden spoons and every record every made by 'Adam and the Ants'.

After winning the school music day for three years consecutively and suspecting a possible reincarnation of Gene Krupa, his parents then urged him to take lessons in Jazz and music reading from Roy Huggett, a leading teacher in the area. Tuition was also gleaned from Bernie Fox (a reputable session musician) and amongst others, Phil Solomon, who had reasuringly done everything, everywhere, ever.alex2.jpg (27170 bytes)

Since this time Alex has been involved in the production, management and promotion of countless bands, groups and musical projects, from theatre shows to sessions and work home and abroad. He currently divides his time between teaching (privately and for schools) emergency, dep and session work and is also studying piano and tabla.

In the event of 'spare' time presenting itself, be assured that Alex will use this for the continual honing of the art of playing the drum set and listening to and learning from as many different musical influences as possible, although his golf has suffered considerably as a result.
